What Makes Her a Personification?

  • Her white kimono represents the white-grayish color of binchōtan charcoal.[3]
  • She wears a piece of charcoal tied on her head.
  • Her name is a wordplay of binchōtan and the -tan suffix, which is a baby talk variant of -chan, and is commonly used in moe personifications.
  • She is good at cooking, especially cooking rice, which references the use of binchōtan for cooking.
